Sophia Pan holds a B.A. in Quantitative Economics and French Studies from Smith College’22. She is a current Research Associate at Harvard Business School, where she conducts research and has co-authored 20+ case studies on family businesses, financial technology (FinTech), and social impact. In addition to case development, she contributes to the design of MBA and Executive Education curricula.

Prior to this role, Sophia worked as a sustainability consultant to help companies reduce their carbon footprints. Her professional and academic interests lie at the intersection of economic and environmental policy, and she plans to pursue graduate studies in this field.

Beyond her professional experience, Sophia is deeply committed to mentorship and education. She has tutored K–6 students in reading comprehension, served as a peer tutor in high school, and worked as a statistics and econometrics tutor during college. Sophia’s tutoring approach is centered on building confidence and mastery from the ground up. She begins by identifying areas of weakness, then works methodically to strengthen understanding through clear explanations and guided practice.
