Livius tutors average 7 years of tenure with our company, and this experience makes a critical difference in successfully guiding students through their academic journey. Our tutors are rigorously trained academic specialists with extensive subject knowledge and expertise. As employees (not independent contractors), we’re able to invest time and resources in training our tutors around our industry-backed curriculum and responsive test prep methodologies.

Catherine Yates

Boston College, M.A.

Catherine Yates is a highly skilled education professional with an expertise in college counseling built over the past twenty-five years. She has had extensive experience working as a private college counselor for Livius for the past seven years. Catherine empowers students to fully engage in the college search process in order to find a “great fit” school. She helps her students craft compelling applications as they reflect on their priorities, strengths, and aspirations.

Bralyn Beathea

University of Nevada, M.A.

Thoroughness is the hallmark of Bralyn’s process of guiding students through private high school applications, and he has helped students earn admission to Phillips Academy, Deerfield, Xaverian, Choate & The Lawrenceville School. In college admission counseling, Bralyn has helped students to secure admissions to several top 50 universities including, but not limited to, Harvard, Brown, University of Wisconsin, Georgetown University, University of Michigan and Northwestern.

Julia Ying

Princeton University, B.S.

Julia Ying is currently finishing her degree at Princeton University studying computer science, but also interested in various other subjects, like mathematics, linguistics, and graphic design. In high school, Julia took 11 AP classes and is always eager to learn more about various subjects—though her academic focus is usually STEM-related. Seeing the impact she makes on her students is one of the primary inspirations for her passion for tutoring.
