Francis completed his PhD in Physics with a specialization in Quantitative Biology at Brandeis University in May 2025. His research centered on gene regulation, specifically how features of a molecule affect its role in transcription. During his time at Brandeis, Francis taught introductory physics to pre-med undergraduate students and served on the physics graduate admissions committee.

Francis is from Brooklyn, New York, and completed a double degree in Math and Physics at Lehman College in the Bronx. He received the Joseph A. Gillett Memorial Prize in his final year, an award given to a graduating senior demonstrating the most knowledge in general physics. He spent over a year as an undergraduate researcher at the American Museum of Natural History, working with a small team of astrophysicists to characterize gamma-ray emitters.

In his free time, Francis enjoys spending time with his wife and their Shiba Inu, cooking good Caribbean food, mentoring others in his church, playing TTRPGs with friends, going to the movies, and building planters for his many plants.
