Daniel completed his PhD in the Molecules, Cells, and Organisms (MCO) program at Harvard University in May 2025. His project mainly explored how the architecture and mechanics of bacterial cell walls are maintained during growth. While at Harvard, Daniel served as a Teaching Fellow for Life Sciences1a, the introductory Biology and Chemistry course, and MCB68: Cell Biology through the Microscope. He has also mentored high school students through Polygence, guiding students in independent research outside the classroom.

Daniel is originally from a cattle and hay farm in Oklahoma. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University with a double major in Biochemistry and Microbiology. At OSU, Daniel also served as a tutor for various math and science courses and was a Supplemental Instructor for General Chemistry. In his free time, you’ll usually find Daniel outdoors, tending to his plants, and climbing. He has traveled extensively to climbing destinations throughout the U.S., México, and Spain.
