Tom graduated from Boston University with a degree in Pure & Applied Mathematics with a minor in Philosophy. He has a deep love for the beauty of complex math. Due to this passion, he has an ability and desire to explain concepts all the way down to arithmetic and up through calculus in as many ways as necessary. With an end goal of getting the ‘light bulb’ to turn on for any student trying to, either, advance their knowledge or work through personal challenges.
Whether they are an accelerated student, or someone who’s having trouble understanding their current assignments, Tom will have a way to meet them where they’re at. With a year of experience as a volunteer tutor, and a year of experience developing content for high school math, he isn’t only relying on his natural skill as a communicator. He has hands-on experience that has nurtured an understanding and efficiency in relaying information.
Apart from math, Tom studied Spanish in high school and later lived briefly in Colombia. He’s fluent in most of the dialects of Spanish in Central and South America. There is a lot of ‘feel’ in learning languages, but the system of Spanish is almost mathematical. Tom can help fill any gaps in understanding at any level.
