Sydni Britton graduated from Boston Latin High School, then Fordham University, and is currently a student at Boston University in the Graduate of Medical Sciences Program. At Fordham Sydni majored in both Biology and African & African American Studies, with the goal of one day becoming a medical doctor or obtaining a Ph.D. in a medically related field. Some of her favorite subjects during undergrad were Black Contemporary Thinkers, Statistics, African American History I, Human Physiology, and Molecular Biology. In high school, Sydni enjoyed AP Literature, AP Chemistry, pre-Calculus, and Algebra 1 & 2. One of her favorite memories of Algebra 1 was staying after school to figure out a math problem and her teacher then had her teach the whole class! Sydni says it was an empowering experience to feel like she had mastery of a topic and that her teacher believed she could instruct others! It also showed her that the true test of knowing the material is the ability to teach others. Being able to effectively communicate your knowledge is the key to academic success! Outside of the classroom, Sydni enjoys playing violin. She was a part of her undergraduate orchestra, sitting first chair from sophomore to senior year! In addition, Sydni loves to go to the gym to relieve stress, crochet, and watch history documentaries and action movies!
