Sherry is a New York State certified Biology teacher (Grades 7–12) with a passion for science education. She earned her undergraduate degree in General Biology with a minor in Education Studies from the University of California, San Diego, and completed her graduate studies in Science Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her teaching experience spans multiple grade levels and settings, including one-on-one tutoring for K–5 students in San Diego and student teaching 7th and 8th grade life science in New York City. Currently, Sherry works in education with a focus on biology and standardized test preparation, including the SAT, TOEFL, and IELTS.

Educated in both China and the United States, Sherry understands firsthand the challenges students face with language barriers and different learning styles, and she’s skilled at adapting instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Her teaching approach centers on inquiry-based, student-centered instruction that helps students build genuine understanding.

Sherry’s goal is to empower students to become independent thinkers and confident learners. She sees education as facilitation—guiding students to discover their strengths and interests rather than fixating on grades alone. She values learning as a reciprocal process where educators and students grow together.

Sherry is always excited to connect with new students and families and looks forward to supporting learners on their academic journeys.
