Spoorthi Giridhar is an educator and writer, recently graduating from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with an Ed.M. in Human Development and Education focusing on identity, power, and justice in education. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, with concentrations in Indian Studies and Education.
Spoorthi’s qualification to teach English subject matter is grounded in both formal tutoring experience and a strong personal writing background. As a Writing Tutor at UC Davis’s Academic Assistance and Tutoring Centers, she provided one-on-one instruction in grammar, structure, and revision across disciplines. Her own writing has been published in the Deccan Herald and on UNICEF’s Voices of Youth platform, giving her firsthand command of the craft she teaches.
She also brings eight years of experience as a spoken word poet and storyteller, performing original work in live settings. That background translates directly into strong public speaking and presentation skills, which she draws on when facilitating workshops and leading discussions with students of all ages.
