Born and raised in Malden, MA, Alexandra has a Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. in Political Science from Columbia University, focusing on International Relations and Comparative Politics. She also has a B.A. from Bowdoin College, where she double majored in Government and Asian Studies and graduated with high honors. She most recently completed a postdoctoral program at Yale University’s Council on East Asian Studies where she continued her research on global affairs and Japanese politics. Alexandra has has taught at Yale University, Columbia University, and Barnard College. She can speak Japanese and some basic Spanish. A life-long learner and student, Alexandra enjoys mentoring students and seeks to help them achieve their academic goals with compassionate advising and rigorous standards.
