Livius in Newton-Wellesley
Our roots in Newton are deep—it’s where we got our start over three decades ago and is home to our headquarters and largest center.
Our expert tutors understand the unique challenges students face as they complete high school and prepare for college, especially given the rapidly changing academic landscape in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can learn more about our in-center health and safety measures here.
As student advocates and academic liaisons, we recognize that a key factor in successful tutoring includes the connections we foster with our students and families. This is true whether our instructors are working with students across the table or meeting for a virtual session.
For over 35 years we’ve honed our programs and practices to meet the evolving needs of college-bound students, beginning with academic support that benefits young learners. We offer private and small-group tutoring for SAT prep, ACT prep, general academics, AP exams, private school entrance exams, and college admission.
In addition, we’ve developed free online classes and programs to ensure all students, no matter where they are, can benefit from targeted test prep and college admission support.
Our Newton-Wellesley center proudly serves students from high schools across the community, including Newton North, Newton South, Newton Country Day, Fessenden, Solomon Schechter, Wellesley Senior High, Dana Hall, and St. Paul, as well as students from surrounding schools in Needham, Brookline, Natick, Dover, Sherborne, and the greater Boston area.

What Our Clients Say About the Livius Experience
"Best tutoring service we've experienced in the Greater Boston area. Very responsive staff and excellent communication with parents regarding tutoring sessions, scheduling, planning. Excellent tutors and lots of flexibility. For us, they stepped into a difficult, time-constrained situation and made everything work."
Monica, Livius Tutoring Parent
"They look at your child as an individual. Specifically tailoring a program and tutor to their needs. I like that they can see every kid/family is unique."
Jenn, Livius Tutoring Parent
"My daughter started working on ACT literally 3 weeks before the exam date. She was at score 30-33 level but she wanted to stay at a stable 35 level. Sandy was extremely helpful in just two weeks and made it happen. The two weeks of intensive training with Sandy were definitely worth the tuition we have paid. Thank you, Sandy!"
