What is the ACT?

The ACT is accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the U.S., and more students nationally take the ACT than the SAT. The test measures students’ achievements in English, Mathematics, Reading and Science, with an optional section focused on Writing (Essay).

Our students work with highly-trained tutors who are compassionate, skilled, and trained to improve students’ test scores through superior test preparation.  They are not only experts in their field, with a Master’s degree or higher, but also skilled at connecting with students, understanding their individual needs and learning styles, and providing a customized approach.

By taking the Livius Prep Actual Conditions ACT Practice Test, you will get familiar with what will be tested, get a feel for the structure and types of questions in each section, and learn how to best approach them. Practice tests also help you identify and fix your weaknesses before you take the actual ACT.

Livius Prep students benefit from becoming more effective learners, while studying time management and organizational skills and foundational skills in reading, writing and math that help them become better overall students and succeed far beyond test day.

Why Your ACT Score is Important

The ACT test is important to colleges and universities because they use it to compare you to other applicants, assess your academic readiness for college, and determine if you would be a good fit at their school.

If your test scores are not high enough, your strong GPA, outstanding essay, challenging course load, dedication to community service, extracurricular activities, and excellent teacher recommendations may not even be reviewed by admissions officers. When the stakes are this high, the most important approach is to spend time preparing for the test in order to get the highest score possible.

Great ACT scores can also make up for other areas of your application that may not be up to par, such as a weak grade in a class. You will also want a competitive score to improve your scholarship chances. A higher ACT score can give you a boost in these areas.
